Naval Warfare, Rogue Enters The Fray, and Jundark Jungle Timeline | Ashes of Creation March Development Livestream
March's Development Preview drops fresh off the heels of a major update, and the Intrepid team walks us through what we can expect this week, and in the weeks to come
Major Patch Review & Upcoming News
With this March’s highly anticipated major 0.7.0 update, Steven and Margaret made sure to remind everyone that these patches tend to also include their own fair share of major bugs as well. From Caravel ships flying through the air to dagger visual bugs, make sure to use the updated /bug menu to report any and all issues you encounter.
Margaret also hinted at an upcoming giveaway, so be sure to keep an eye out on official Intrepid Studios socials for your chance to snag access to the Alpha 2 for yourself or a friend.
Do note, past giveaways have been permanently attached to the account that claims them, and users that already have Alpha 2 access and won a giveaway effectively gained no benefit, and reduced the number of overall winners. Let your friends know to create an account now*, so they can be ready to input the code at a moments notice.

Rogue Archetype Preview
The team also showed off their recent Rogue Archetype Video Preview on stream. Check out the video below and leave your thoughts on the initial iteration of the highly anticipated Rogue Archetype.
Steven elaborated on the time it takes for his team to get an archetype to it’s current state, mentioning a development lifecycle of 3-4 months. Given that the Summoner Archetype is the next and final Archetype release, players shouldn’t have much longer to wait until we start seeing some Summoner reveals.
Turkish and Other Language Support
Future localization efforts are still at the forefront of Intrepid Studios minds, as Steven gets into a segue to shoutout Türkiye and other regions with a large MMORPG presence. Localization tech at Intrepid is very robust, and inclusion of more languages will be considered as time goes on. Keep an eye out on this page for any updates to the languages that are currently planned to be supported.
Node Sieges Underway
As players have will likely experience later today, Node Sieges have been introduced into the game. While still a very early iteration, players will get to interact with the major system and test many of the features that have only been theoretical until now.
Mayors will have the ability to add players to the defending or attacking team, with major restrictions that prioritize citizens. With a waitlist as well, players will get the opportunity to choose to defend their node or help destroy another, while those not included in the battle will be evicted from the designate area once the Node Siege begins.
Expect many bugs, and so be sure to report them with major detail to help improve the system over time. Also, be sure to leave your feedback on how the system is intended, including how much control the Mayor has over choosing team members, and overall balance of attackers vs defenders.
Node Relics
Node Relics can drop from bosses, mobs, or from deeply intricate story lines & quests, rewarding exploration and activity within Verra. These Relics can have a variety of effects, and can become sources of player friction. This is due to some being extremely limited in quantity (some only existing once on an entire server), as well as needing a Caravan to transport to a Node in order for their effects to be realized.
Some of these effects can be Node Buffs, and even access to unique recipes to that Node. This can be another reason why players would decide to declare a war on a Node, because owning one of these Relics can be gamechanging. And the ability for them to drop for any player, regardless of affiliation, makes exploring the world of Verra even more exciting than before.
Live Demonstration

Steven and Margaret switched scenes to the Lyneth Server, and are joined with several new and old members of the Intrepid Studios team, to get more in-depth on Naval, Node Sieges, and the overall design process for this major patch.
Some additional information during this stream was the upcoming Jundark Jungle Region will be released next month! Check out the full conversation on the Ashes of Creation Youtube Channel, as these conversations are a seldom seen peek-behind-the-curtain of the design process of a major MMORPG!
